The Keta Sandlanders are a Division 2 football side from Ghana with unique ambitions to develop their club and the community.

The Sandlanders have 2 clear aims:

1. To establish a strong and sustainable infrastructure which will enable the club and its players to move forward.

2. To assist the community in Ghana and specifically in Keta by contributing one fifth of all funds raised to sustainable community development programmes.

To achieve these aims the Sandlanders have developed a marketing strategy unique to a club from the developing world. We believe that the Internet offers clubs worldwide an opportunity to market themselves on the same footing as wealthier sides, as long as the standard of football is good clubs will be able to create a profile for themselves and appeal to an audience which was previously out of reach.

In order to create this profile we have developed this website and hope to use the site to establish an on-line community of members and supporters. In the same way that FC Barcelona - one of the world’s most powerful sides - operates as a club supported by the contributions of its members, www.ketasandlanders.com will be a base for a community of members who can watch their side develop over the Internet.

For a small annual fee members will be able to follow and contribute to the development of the club and Keta town – videos/pictures and reports of all matches played will be posted in the members area, a members directory and forum will be running and monthly e-newsletters will provide news on the club and community projects. On-line votes will be held on various aspects of club development which will allow members to have a say in our progress. We hope to promote all aspects of local culture including music, art and industry and as the site develops these aspects will become more prominent.
