GOALKEEPERS

GOKAH DANIEL ADDO. Daniel is originally from Tegbi, a suburb of Keta. A Chelsea supporter, and firm admirer of Petr Cech, his strengths are similar to those of his idol. He is our current No. 1, brave and makes the most of his 6"3 frame to command the penalty area. Athletic for his size, Daniel is a ever-dependable and is doing an excellent job to keep out our second talented goalkeeper, Moses Abormegah. Daniel is a keen volleyball player in his spare time.

MOSES ABORMEGAH. Sandlanders are lucky to have two top class goalkeepers and Moses is only second choice at the moment following a series of top class performances by Daniel Addo. Moses is originally from Tiame, supports AC Milan and hopes one day to emulate Dida. A talented keeper, he has a history of stopping penalties and has already saved one in this pre-season against Forest Agri. Moses is also a top student and focuses on Business Management studies in his spare time as well as listening to reggae.

DEFENDERS

SALENKO (Central Defender/Striker). Salenko is one of the most experienced and accomplished members of the squad. A stalwart of the first Sandlanders side of 2004 which came within 1 game of qualification for Division 1, Salenko fills the Marcel Desailly role at the back for Sandlanders at present. As well as being a commanding presence in defence, Salenko frequently takes our free-kicks and has been deployed in the past as a striker and even on the wings such is his versatility.

WISDOM KLENAM (Central Defender). Originally from Tegbi, Wisdom is centre-back who is well-equipped to deputise in the absence of probable regulars Salenko and Livingstone. He is a Liverpool fan who looks up to Steven Gerrard and enjoys drinking tea, swimming and cooking in his spare time.

EMMANUEL NII OTUTEY (Left-Back). First Choice left-back at the moment, Emmanuel is growing in maturity by the game. Originally from Osu in Ghana's capital Accra, Emmanuel is a Manchester United fan and hopes to follow in the footsteps of idol Patrice Evra. He certainly attacks with the same verve as Evra and is now establsihing himself as a fixture in the side. Emmanuel's hobbies are reading, swimming and listening to music.

GEORGE LOGAH (Left-Back). Another reliable left-back, George is over 6ft and nimble on his feet which makes him an imposing presence on the flank. Originally from Anloga in the Keta area, George is a Chelsea fan and another admirer of Michael Essien who understandably is a role model for most aspiring Ghanaian footballers.

KWASHIE JUSTICE (Right-Back/Utility).

Justice is our current right-back and will be a key figure in the coming months. A recruit from Aflao on the Togo border, his versatility is a great help to the Sandlanderes. Mature beyond his years, Justice hopes to emulate Seth in the future as a Coach nurturing young talent. A Portsmouth fan, largely due to the exploits of rising star and soon to be Ghanaian legend Sulley Muntari.

CHRISTOPHER FIANYO (Right-Back). Current deputy to Justice, 'Topher' has emerged as a powerful squad player after recent strong training performances which have impressed Coach Seth. A local boy through and through, Topher hails from Dzelukope in the Keta area and lists Volta legends Sunrise as his favourite team and Ibrahim Akakpo as his favourite player.

HATTOH ISMAIL (Right-Back). Another contender for the hotly contested right-back spot, Hattoh is another strong squad player. Also from Dzelukope, he is a Chelsea fan and his favourite player is Michael Essien.

MIDFIELDERS

HASSAN SASMUSAH (LEFT-WING). First choice on the left side of Midfield, Hassan is a constant threat with a quick turn of pace and exciting attacking style. Hassan has emerged from tough Accra suburb Nima and made the trip out to Keta to pursue his dream to become a footballer. His favourite team is Barcelona and favourite player Ronaldinho.

MICHAEL 'TIBO' AGBESSE (DEFENSIVE-MIDFIELD). Though primarily employed as a defensive midfielder for Sandlanders, Tibo has really emerged in past weeks as a valuable provider of goals for the side with 3 in recent games. Originally from Anloga, he is another admirerof Barcelona and Ronaldinho though we believe he cuts more of a Robinho figure on the pitch, tall and graceful moving forward. Definitely one to watch this season.

KWAME ABOTSI (WINGER, RIGHT). At just 15 years old, Kwame is the youngest member of the squad. Given his age, Sandlanders are paying for his schooling and this is an important aspect of our approach to the management of young players. The club acknowledges a real responsibility to every player to ensure that they are offered an all round development which will prepare them for life with or without football. In the long-term, the club plans to establish a purpose-built facility which will allow players to be schooled on site. Nicknamed 'Big Abotsi' by local school children in spite of his diminutive stature, he is a popular figure. Kwame hails from Agavedzi and is showing wonderful potential in training, he is a Chelsea fan and lists John Terry as his inspiration.

DODZI TAMAKLOE (MIDFIELD, UTILITY). This Dzelokope boy is another important squad player and a Barcelona fan listing Samuel Eto'o as his favourite player. Dodzi's favourite food is rice and beans and he enjoys singing in his spare time.

PHILIP TANASI (MIDFIELD, UTILITY). Captain of the Sandlanders in their last campaign, Philip is an experienced and influential member of the squad. One of our Accra boy's, he brings real versatility to the midfield and defence.

STRIKERS

WILSON 'BULI' GOBAH (STRIKER/WINGER, RIGHT). Probably the quickest player in the side, Buli is equally effective for the Sandlanders coming in from the wing or as a central striker. Always a threat because of his pace, Buli has played a number of excellent games for us in pre-season.

MOHAMMED IBRAHIM 'ZOLA' (CAPTAIN) (STRIKER/ATTACKING MIDFIELDER). Current Captain in camp having impressed Coach Seth with his recent leadership in training, Zola is another hugely talented attacking player with notable strength. Along with Sunday, Buli and the returning Shine he is at the centre of the Sandlanders inter-changeable and dangerous attack. A popular character with team-mates, Zola has come to Keta from Accra , likes rice and chicken and Nottingham Forest (home to Junior Agogo) and his hero is of course former Chelsea player Gianfranco Zola.

HAMZA SHINE ADJETEY (STRIKER-CENTRE). A big, powerful striker and stalwart of the Sandlanders Middle League campaign of 2004, Shine will be a key player as he makes his return to the fold in the coming weeks. A Keta boy by birth, Shine has the strong heading ability of Patrick Kluivert. In his spare time he enjoys riding his motorcycle and watching Michael Essien play for Chelsea.

AMBROSE ETSEY (STRIKER-CENTRE). Another powerful central threat for the Sandlanders, Ambrose is born and bred in Keta. A Liverpool fan, he admires Steven Gerrard, enjoys rice and stew and watching movies in his spare time.
